We were approached by a London DJ (Fred) to create a brand identity that has personality and stands out on the house music scene.
We started by researching the target market and similar artists, as we wanted the SimplyFRED brand to be bold and stand out amongst competitors. Within our research, we found that many DJ brands had typographic logos, so we decided to create something more visual, that was underpinned with a strong concept. The logo creation included a hare illustration, to represent the speed and adrenalin of house music in a unique and symbolic way. An energetic colour palette was created and a contemporary typeface was chosen, both of which contribute to the bold design. The result is a loud, unique and eye catching brand. Since the brand, we have also created a brand for a club night, which has involved name creation (‘kick’ to fit in with the concept) and poster designs.
