Independent, non-profit, public sector, social causes, education, young people, creatives, anyone with passion!
The title for this blog post was nearly ‘why we love working with small businesses’ but a chat in the studio brought some reflection. Yes, we love working with independent businesses, but we enjoy that because they are passionate about what they do. This led to a discussion that passion was the key word here, and we don’t want to eliminate people from this category just because they are more of an organisation than an independent business or a sole trader. If they have passion, then they care about what they do and why they do it, and when we get to work with businesses with passion, we get to bring their love for it and vision to life (it is very exciting and we may do a little dance).
I think our initial drive working with small businesses came from discussing start-ups, who have the enthusiasm and drive when first starting out (we can certainly relate to that only four months in), of the unknown and the discovery, even the hard times, it keeps it exciting. Sometimes, you have a brilliant idea, product or service, but you may not know where to start to bring it to life with a brand, or a website (if you need one), and that’s where we come in.
We are a small independent studio who care about our clients, and we aim to create close relationships with them, no matter how big or small the job. The benefit of working with us is that you will work directly with the designer which offers transparency, guidance and commitment until we complete the work. There is an entirely different blog post coming to mind as I write this (why bigger isn’t always better), we will aim to do a follow up in the coming weeks.
Working with small organisations or start ups also gives us great opportunity to make a difference to their brand. The most important part of our job is always to reflect your values of who you are, what you do and why you do what you do (whilst of course being super creative). We always work with this strategy before designing (see our process). Taking the time to get to know you and asking the right questions will help us fully understand your needs, beliefs and goals of your business and the project. This process will result in clear communication to your customers and help you stand out from your competitors; both of which will help your business succeed further.
We love the excuse to have a chat and a cuppa with friends, so please get in touch if you have any questions or want to look into working on a project with us. We are personal, friendly and don’t use any sales lingo to try and sell you things we don’t think you need. We are Graphic Designers because we love the discovery of a new brand and being creative, and because we want to use our skills help businesses that care about what they do; bringing their vision to life.
